Day 497

To see different groups of people twice and to get caught up with five series in a month are what define eventful for me these days. Thank you July for giving room for these things!

  • When the college barkada had the virtual get-together last month, a plan to do a follow-through in person was agreed and everyone was all in so we pushed through! Love and miss them so much we ate for seven hours just so we could be together for well, seven hours! We were all set to do it in Tagaytay but Taal Volcano started acting up again that weekend we ended up at the not so near Alabang l o l

  • One of our aunts, who we fondly call Tetelen had her birthday last week so Mama and I dropped by their place for a little surprise. She never failed to exert efforts when it’s our (my and my sibs’) birthdays, and she’s been such a dear aunt to me I had my favorite baker create a birthday cake that’s so her! That also served as a send-off because she flew to the United States just a few days ago to work there for quite a while and I’m so glad to have made that effort for her! My cousins (who are children l o l) were happy with my visit too, and that warms my heart so much!

  • So I mentioned in my last post that baby bata’s disappearance led to a series of trips to the vet because apparently, we’re a family of crazy/paranoid cat owners! Even though Dorothy was fine when she returned, we couldn’t be more sure. Had her checked which prompted me to spend like I’ve got a new born l o l — anti-rabies vaccine, a bunch of tests including CBC, kidney and liver, a handful of meds, and her spay procedure. Don’t want to risk her running away again unprotected and I most definitely cannot deal with teenage pregnancy l o l. Well I get that them getting pregnant is natural and that it’s their way of life it’s just that we don’t want her to end up like her momma (not ours) that’s probably already very tired of carrying a litter-filled tummy almost every three months! It’s like she doesn’t get to rest! Also, we’re very much happy with her being our only baby together with her sister Jessie/Dorothy Star (my sibs call her different names) so yeah we’re good hahaha. Hope days go by quicker so her wound will heal already and that taking meds which is a struggle for her will be over!

  • Errands won’t be out of our to-do list any sooner but for as long as it serves as our passport to our quality time, well okay then l o l. Though it was nothing grand, we ate our favorite beef salpicao with extra garlic rice, some chicken tenders and mozzarella balls over two huge ass glasses of 500ml beer for each of us (I know I already said huge ass glasses but I needed to quantify to clearly define what I meant) — it was such a nice and cool dinner! One of the silver linings of this pandemic for me is that I get to drink without getting noticed because of the mask covering my face and the protocol on going straight to the bathroom to clean up! HA HA HA

  • I finally got caught up with Billions and I soooo love Wendy Rhoades! Aside from good looks and elegant wardrobe, I identify with her character so much she might have contributed to this new “venture” that is currently being carved in my head. It’s still all fragments but the idea is worth nurturing. And Bobby Axelrod! Holy hell! I’m so sorry Chuck but if I really do have to pick a side between you two, the weight is heavier on the trading camp.

  • Every 90s-born millennial had Gossip Girl to blame for their bitchiness and wit today. And as one myself, the reboot is bringing me back to my college life only now I can execute the lessons from the series better l m a o. Tavi Gevinson as part of the cast was enough push for me to look forward to the premiere, but now that it’s already streaming, I am majorly concerned with her hoarse voice I’m going crazy whenever she speaks! I need her to clear her throat at all freaking times l o l. Also, I kinda envisioned her to be one of the students but Audrey Hope giving off that Blair vibes is impressive. Although — it’s close, but not quite.

  • I also saw The Flight Attendant, Mare of Easttown and The Undoing — all of these in under two weeks! My hands are really down for HBO’s originals I can’t recall any content that didn’t drum up my satisfaction. I also loved the consistency of telling stories in a concise manner yet so full of surprises! My insides are always awakened every time I’m locked to an HBO series. Bravo, bravo.
