Note: As members of the entourage, we were tasked to take photos throughout the ceremony using film cameras which the couple had developed and shared with us post-event. Credits to the rightful takers of the film photos I included here that are not c/o me!

Another wedding in the time of corona!

My best friend cousin Yen and her now husband tied the knot for the second time on 11.11 no less! I remember us crossing fingers for universe-knows-what every time our phones hit 11:11 back in our teenage years! Still can’t believe we’re way past those days when we used to whisper our secrets, not to mention get scolded a lot r a w r

To be fair, we’ve had the strictest parents — my mama and her papa are sibs who were raised with hardcore corporal punishment l o l. While sure, we’ve had our share of shortcomings as teenagers (emphasis on teenagers), I do believe we were good and nice kids for the majority of that whole life phase. Whatever our parents say, we obey. It’s just that there were instances that require creativity and resourcefulness and we’re thankful we never got busted l o l. Throwback to those rare hangouts in Town where we, the fantastic four — us and our sisters Dianne and Jang — got approval to bond but of course we’ve gotten smart to make the most out of those moments, multiplying the four to two, making us a total of eight pax (l o l hello exes hope you’re all doing fine wherever you are — but mine was already Ian hihi) and splitting to different sides of the south — Town, then newly-opened MOA, Biñan and Dasmariñas. Four Cinderellas scattered, rushing back to the base before the curfew that was 5 in the afternoon, debriefing and aligning on how our day went before we face the parentals when it’s pick up time l o l. Never forget the studio photos at Picture City which we saved up for every time!

This storyline right here prompted me to dig down our old photos from the ‘90s and we’re so so cute! Haha! These memories are flashing back to me now and it feels like it’s just yesterday but holy freaking shit can’t believe it’s almost thirty years ago! Aww, we’ve always been really together :/ We’ve got so much love for each other and sometimes hate l o l that when we fight it’s so easy for us to say that we’d just switch sisters hahaha

I didn’t mean to blab so much and be sentimental but we missed half of the fantastic four at Yen’s wedding! My sister Dianne’s not staying in Manila for work while Jang, her sister, is in Australia and wasn’t able to fly back, both due to COVID-19. We are the fantastic four because there was a movie back then that starred Jessica Alba and it was in the teen magazines we used to read which we think was cool l o l

While it would’ve been better to have a 2020 version of the photos above, and at one of the most important life milestones of 1/4 of the fantastic four, we have the technology to thank as they still got to witness the occasion virtually!

For now, it’s welcoming our new brother Raniel to the fam and wishing the newly weds the best as they enter the married life! Already waving hello to our future nieces and nephews hihihi
