Day 252

I don’t know why I kept looking at my face. I’ve been staring at myself on the mirror, trying to figure out what to make of this moment but nothing here yet.

10 PM is usually pretty early for me, and feeling sleepy at this time of the evening makes me think that I’m about to waste the rest of the weekend if I doze off right now, so I got myself a bottle of iced coffee in an attempt to make the hours go slower.

I’m sorry Monday, still don’t like you.

So it’s been four months since the last quarantine diary entry and o h m y g o d where did time go??

  • We celebrated both our sister’s and brother’s birthdays in that period, and yes, food trays were still our friends! Huge shout out to @sweeteatsph for these cute and really yummy cakes that accurately represented my siblings’ thangzz! Never went for other cakes after the first time they baked for us!

  • If everyone’s plantita-hood has been unleashed this quarantine — mine wasn’t, unfortunately. But I found other babies to play with and now I’m proud to call myself an official candle hoarder! So happy to have found local brands that never fail to make me drool every time they drop their new collections, so yes, these photos are no longer accurate l o l

  • Also reporting with pride that Ian and I’s LDR-ish quarantine situation has been addressed, and it feels refreshing that our dates are now with the parents’ approval! Spending the blackout brought about by Typhoon Ulysses at home is something we deem as a milestone too, with Mama preparing coffee for us as we stay the night by the dining table. I know, I know. More than a decade later and that’s still part of our concerns but we’ve got loads of patience and we’re just ecstatic to be finally reaching this point l o l

  • My P Julienne has taken the liberty of being the first to say “I do” among the De Villa cousins and it’s still so hard to wrap my head around the fact that we’re getting old! Sharing photos in a separate entry because being a bridesmaid to my best friend cousin is a moment I’d like to treasure and also, getting made up in the time of the pandemic is a rare occasion l o l

  • Other things —

    • Happy to have gotten myself new nail polish bottles (plus a few tints and lippies) from Sunnies Face during the 11.11 sale y a y! I just think they deserve a spot here because they were only a little over a hundred bucks plus the colors are undeniably #aesthetic!

    • Not cool to share that I haven’t done my garage run the past month because there have been a lot of rainy days plus work’s quite drowning recently — logging out at 12 MN is enough to make me feel lucky because dude, 3 AM and 4 AMs have happened often the past few weeks and that’s really pathetic. I was only able to do a Rebel workout one time and I died so I never got to do it again

  • THE QUEEN’S GAMBIT holy freaking shit! I so so love the storyline and of all the characters, it’s Mr. Shaibel who made me cry! Best part for me was that scene where the boys called Beth at her hotel room in Russia as she faced Borgov for the third time! WHAT. AN. ARMY. I’ve replayed that scene a couple of times before I’ve come to accept the fact that the series is over. Anya Taylor Joy is such a lovely sight I am obsessed! She is so fucking brilliant I am now in a mission to see every film/series she’s in! And Thomas Brodie-Sangster — aaahh, the kid is all grown up now! And knowing that he’s also born in the year ‘90 (he’s older than me by a month, btw) gives me a sigh of relief l o l

  • From one awesome actress to another — Eliza Scanlen is also one hell of an artist! Revisited Sharp Objects from two years ago because I never got the chance to finish the series and I’m glad I did! Unlike the others I’ve seen recently, there’s nothing really fancy about it but it has the capability to make an impact deep down your being and until now i can’t rest my back and feet relaxingly rawr. Freaking Amma is such a pretty psycho you couldn’t get enough of her! Also, it made me appreciate Amy Adams more and I’d say there’d be no other woman who could embody Camille Preaker the way she did. I have not read the book but she did real good on this one! Makes me want to learn to do roller blades, suddenly

  • It wouldn’t be right to forget about Lily Collins as the charming Emily Cooper in Emily in Paris and how she made one of my quarantine weekends a little bit livelier! That series reminded me of why Paris is the city everyone loves and though it might not be my favorite city in the world, having coffee and croissants by its classy streets would be awesome! Lucas Bravo, of course, made me use the word “hottie” again and I gotta recognize how that face and guts took me back to the time I annoyingly giggle at the age of seventeen! I honestly hate to do this, but this is the part where I’d say — my. ovaries. o h m y g o d

Day 252 everyone.
