Day 14

I was supposed to publish this entry yesterday but it was a working day, and damn TGIF is still something I look forward to saying even with the work from home set-up. So so grateful that I have a job to keep though, and that my family’s getting by.

It’s Lockdown Day 14 and it may be one of the most annoying things to hear right now, but I actually miss a lot of our happy food. I mean, yeah. Annoying. I want to punch myself in the face too.

Apologies for my superficiality, I’m just an always hungry human being who’s being useless in this COVID-19 situation.

Hats off to the front liners, really.

To our doctors, nurses, all the workers in the medical field, words are not enough to say thank you for holding the fort. You are the greatest fighters of this war and sorry that all we can do is just stay home. To our military who are extending their roles to keep this quarantine work, thank you. A lot of people may not fully understand your presence right here, right now, but thank you for being on the sidelines. To our amazing support group — supermarket staff, bankers, pharmacists, security guards, janitors, market vendors, farmers, delivery men — thank you for continuously getting up each morning to take your shifts as if this isn’t an extraordinary time. You guys, I seriously can’t see myself doing what you do. I don’t know if I would have the strength. My hands are down for all of you, thank you, thank you, for giving your lives.

A line of appreciation to my company as well, I just gotta say that I value how our management has been responding to this unprecedented event since day 1. Small things don’t go unnoticed — our IDs and Certificate of Employments shipped to our houses within the first week of this lockdown, constant e-mail reminders and advisories (the bosses even type in prayers), these are some things that bring a little comfort and assurance. I owe to them how I’m able to still hit that “Order Now” button on my Grab app in this challenging time. I’m seeing all of these right now and yes, I’m not going anywhere.. yet. *wink

We’re gonna make it guys. We will.
