December 1 — Troy Avery’s First Birthday Celebration & my S’ Farewell Party

Celebrated Baby Troy’s first birthday which also turned out to be my main bitch’s farewell party before they flew out to the US for good. I still can’t believe S & B are dealing with LDR right now but we know that our sisterhood is much much stronger than the distance!

December 3 — The Wicked Stepsisters

Though we know for a fact that gone are the days when I used to be that 20-year-old fresh out of college assistant, the Wicked Stepsisters remain to be my corporate ates and I will always be the baby girl! :D

December 8 - Papa’s Birthday

It’s been a while since we last celebrated Papa’s birthday together, and it was nice for the year 2019 to allow us to! My baby brother who’s now in college is currently living in Katipunan with his friends (sobs, still can’t believe this but have to survive lol #clingybigsister) so we had to head north so he could join us. Happy we did this!

December 14 — Psych Fam

Attendance was quite small this year so it was just Glenn who we had to wait for. HAHAHA! This always conservative crew achieved a milestone that night, and that is to finally book a trip that can no longer be cancelled unless we’re that really pabebe! First trip in motha-effin’ fourteen years!!?? Why do we have this habit of flaking on each other? Haha! Excited to go to Baguio with you immatures!

December 15 — Kizmet’s Christening

On the other circle from college is my dearest Peer fam and was happy to see some of them that day during the christening of Kuya Jan and Pam’s first born, Kizmet. That served as our first gathering for the holidays!

December 21-A — Millie Leica’s First Birthday

This is the third time I typed in a baby’s name in the headline instead of my friends’ names! Lol, are we really getting old??

The pretty happy baby turned one two weeks ago, and I can’t believe how time’s running so fast! I can still clearly remember that day I first caught a glance of this beautiful creature when I visited her mom Monica at the hospital! So so thankful and I really appreciate that we’re able to sustain our friendship beyond the corners of our former office!

December 21-B — Ian & Ysh

This coffee date demands to be on this list because Ian surprisingly completed a Starbucks sticker card and actually claimed a planner for me — now that I stopped making efforts to collect, and well, I used to be the one doing that for him! Also, his support for me has always been unquestionable even if he had to stop me from saying yes to the MS Office software the sales crew was offering me l o l w t f. Would you believe I actually thought about it?? Thank you for always bringing me back to my senses, and helping me carry the shopping bags!

December 22 to 24

That whole weekend and a day we spent over drinking and gambling l o l prior to Alex’s wedding! So happy to have shared good laughs with my favorite boys again! Thank you for the brotherhood that only grows stronger over the years, for the love and care that knows we’d go through hell and back for each other. Never afraid to admit I go teary-eyed every time I’m reminded how lucky I am that I’m part of our amazing big family!

December 25 — De Villa Family Tradition

What can I say, no Christmas would be ever complete without our classic family picture taking at the tree! Happy to have celebrated Christmas Day with our ultimate kween, yaaass, Lola Inay! Love you so much po!

December 26 — The real Ian & Ysh Christmas Date

Must be the age but we couldn’t recall when and how did we eliminate the part where we exchange gifts! Hahaha! Okay yes, it’s the age. We now go for alcohol in broad daylight and as a complementary beverage, not to get drunk. Thank you for the last eleven Christmas dates, Mister Ian! More in the next decade, yes?

December 27 — Brother Date

Never going to let the holiday pass without taking my baby brother out for a date! Love this kid so much even if he’s always annoyed at me and tells me to shut up how sweet l o l I have not imagined that day where I won’t baby him anymore so he’s stuck with me and will forever be that cute six-year-old chubby bunny! At least you’ll have free food ‘til you’re old?

December 30 — Peer Fam’s Last Hurrah for the Decade

No day is long enough for every Peer gathering, as the supposedly “snack” meet up extended to dinner and even to a late night coffee run. Best part was getting to see and hug the man who brought us all together and cultivated a warm and fun-loving culture that I’ve been blabbing about this whole entry l o l. We’ll never grow bonded like this if not for him and I’m so glad to see him again with his wife!

***

What an eventful month! December has always been my favorite time of the year mainly because it’s when everyone’s about making time to gather and reunite. Sorting the photos made me realize that the good part of these feasts were spent with my friends from college (even from different groups) and that makes me very happy. They’re the most precious people I’ve met and I’m so glad that we’re growing old together, and that we still love to be around each other. You guys, thank you for the gift of our friendship! So grateful you all are my constants!
