I’ve always looked forward to visiting Hong Kong, and apart from its famous shopping destinations and must-try food, its photogenic spots are also something that were non-negotiables in our itinerary. Really thankful for their efficient train system that served as our primary mode of transportation, it made us reach all our desired destinations fast, and with no hassle!

Choi Hung Estate is one of those visually pleasing spots I see on Instagram, and we [or I] wouldn’t let it slip of course! #aesthetic l o l

It’s just a two-minute walk from the train station and once you enter the premises, it’s kind of easy to get confused as the apartment buildings are positioned in a square formation. In the middle of the estate is a three-story parking, and we thought we had to walk some more because we weren’t seeing the basketball court. It’s apparently situated at the rooftop, so make sure to take note of that.

There’s really something about pastel colors that makes everything pretty, so much so that we didn’t realize we spent about more than an hour just to get the right angles. I was happy to be the one taking the shots though, so I didn’t have much photos of myself. Only one made it to the shortlist and it features my grumpy face because the sun was glaring and well, none out of god-knows-how-many shots made me satisfied l o l

Instagram concerns aside, Choi Hung made me see and feel the different side of Hong Kong. It’s the relatable and “normal" side, different from the busy and loud Central. Also loved that I got to watch kids play basketball, scooters and some just cheerfully talking. It’s been a while since I last witnessed such scene!

Kids of Manila, where art thou?
