Central HK
Most blogs recommend to stay either in TST or Kowloon area, but being a lover of urban street scenes and neon lights, I thought Central would be the perfect area to stay at. Right outside our hotel was the Ice House Stairwell leading to Wyndham which houses the shops I’ve been wanting to see in the flesh at least, if there was no item I couldn’t afford l o l
We really appreciate how everything’s accessible and walk-able that we didn’t have to keep track of time because we were sure we could go home!
During our last night was when we saw how intense the ongoing protests are — the busy and lively but peaceful roads in the morning were suddenly not passable, quiet and seemed disturbed. We were so fortunate to have decided to go back to Central from Mong Kok right before the train was shut down (it was just around 6 PM and we’d normally go back between 10-11 PM)! Would have not been able to make it to our flight the next morning had we not moved at that very moment we did. Talk about good timing!
Walking around SoHo was also one of my favorite experiences in Central! Would have wanted to see it in daylight but we were short of time so that’s definitely on the to-do list when we go back. So many shopping outlets and coffee shops to visit, I can’t wait! But have to grind first so we’ll have license to splurge l o l
