As I was getting our stuff ready for our Hong Kong trip, I realized it would be short compared to our previous vacations and I was afraid of having to drag myself back to work right away. Thinking that it was just a two-day off (not to mention the fact that I’ve waited long enough before this day for it to end in a blink of an eye lol), I suggested to extend. Adding a couple of days more in Hong Kong was not an option, because although I would love to, the intensity of the protests were rising again, plus rebooking our return flight to Manila would incur costs on top of the additional expenses.

Enter the City of Pines — the ever-reliable, no fail Baguio City, a safe haven. In consideration of our luggage bags, it would totally make sense to go straight up north as the bus terminal was just a few minutes away from the airport. Imagining myself having to pull a medium-sized stroller in Tagaytay was just not happening, rawr.

So we went up and ate all the good food we could! Which basically what happens every time l o l

The draft beers at Baguio Craft Brewery have always been part of every trip but it was our first time to have dinner there as it was the only restaurant we saw open during our first night. Holy shit I wish we knew that before! The food at Hill Station were also our favorites — their Tuna Tataki was a perfect appetizer to the Steak and Salmon and Javanese Fried Chicken entrees. But we were very much surprised with how crazy good the tsokolate and bibingka from Tsokolateria was! O M G still can’t get over with how fluffy that freaking rice cake was! All the fat we burned from our strolls in Hong Kong were back in an instant!

Shout out to the most hospitable ambassador of Baguio, THE Russel Go (haha, but seriously), so so so loved our stay at G1 Lodge! Loved everything about the hotel — from the interiors down to the friendly staff, won’t have to look elsewhere!
