Day 392

I am so tired. My back’s forever a pain in the ass but I really felt it these past few weeks. Work’s kind of on a spike lately and honestly the two consecutive long weekends are still pretty short for me. Gahd I hope somebody would push for that four-day work week idea!

It’s been a month since Ian and I saw each other, for it’s ECQ equals LDR for us.

So yeah, it’s pretty much the indoors again, not that it’s any different but yeah, it’s strictly indoors, nothing beyond our fences.

  • Thought it’d be cool to grace the blog with our baby girl Dorothy’s pretty face!! Never imagined I’d love this baby so much but here we are! I won’t normally give a shit but her mood swings are adorable I can’t help pinching her which results to trouble most of the time — me getting bruised but it’s okay, and I know that she hates it when I change my voice but it’s just something that is hard for me to do hahaha *b a b y b a t a*

  • Food ordered still definitely makes it to the quarantine diary because what else could we ever do. Life has become extremely monotonous that deciding what to eat is already a feat. Really grateful for the delivery riders who are great enablers for me during this time, and I mean that in a very good way! Wouldn’t know how to deal with this life phase better if they’re not around.

  • Finally scored cookies from First Batch, one of the many cookie shops I’ve been wanting to try since the start of this whole quarantine life last year! I find it a bit pricey which is why I’ve been holding off but on that random day, when there was an extra box up for grabs, I thought that I’ve been spending for nonsense stuff anyway so why not for these cookies? And boy, were they sooo good! But seriously, why do cookies cost more than five hundred???

  • And then there’s this neighborhood pizza joint found by my sister a few months back and we really loved their vegan pizza! My brother loves food as much as I do and he remembered Pizzeria Romano so we ordered their signature flavor and no shit, it tastes just as good as our favorite artisan pizza joints! Oh gahd I miss Gino’s!

  • McDonald’s newly released Korean burgers have already made three appearances in our household from its launch just last April 5 and no bias, I really don’t get the hate because the K-chicken is good enough for me! The K-beef is okay but it’s not so bad! Seriously, do people expect it to be a Michelin-starred burger?

  • And no, no mention of garage run because I have not done so for almost a month now. I know I gotta get back to it already but I don’t know if this sounds like a lame excuse but I’m not quite comfortable going out even just within our fence because I feel that the virus has contaminated the entire atmosphere I don’t know how will I be able to run comfortably, and safe.

  • I admit that the back pain is kind of self-inflicted because you know that I live by the words “sleep is for the weak” and I have no regrets dedicating the holidays to none other than Netflix. I found myself drowning over Spanish movies last weekend — the DARK fan account that I’ve been interacting with for the longest time suggested Dorante La Tormenta as a must-watch. I did, and I liked it although the concept’s not fairly new to me as I’ve seen a similar movie before — an American film called Frequency (2000), which also had a series adaptation in 2016. Then I came across Contratiempo, which, I would recommend you to see if you’ve got time to kill. There’s nothing grand with the production but the storytelling will make it worth your while.

  • This would be very disappointing to hear but — I just saw Breaking Bad for the first time, finished the whole series at five in the morning today and, HOLYFRIGGINSHITOHMYGOD WHY DIDN’T I WATCH IT BEFORE?????? OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD. It all still feels so fresh to me and my heart is still pounding trying to absorb what did I got myself into. Jeeeeezzz, it’s so damn good there’s no way the actors and actresses didn’t win Emmy’s for each of themselves. I am so happy I got to feel this much again for a series, and all I can say is that gaaaaaaaaahhh, I cannot forgive myself for not bringing Mr. White and Pinkman to my life sooner! I’m literally having a headache because of the sleepless nights just to get to the end of it quick, but also because, in Jesse’s tone, duh?? My mind is blown! Gotta admit I was pretty underwhelmed with the first three seasons, I was enjoying it, but I still didn’t get what the fuss is about. I could pretty much declare that the scenes where Walt got all hysterical saying he’s the danger, and when Jesse kicked ass ordering the Mexicans what to do as my favorites, but that’s only until then. When I heard Apparat’s Goodbye, that’s when I knew I was in for an even better ride. That woman’s cry, there’s no way I could be mistaken. And when the pump was starting to build up, I was like — no way, no way, no way. Until the camera panned to Gus’ car window and I got the confirmation, I literally felt my epidermis woke and went batshit crazy. There was also one scene where they mentioned the word god-particle and I was like, you gotta be kidding me. Fucking hell — before DARK there was Breaking Bad. Before Adam there was Walt. I know I already said it irritatingly for a good number of times, but holy shit it’s so damn good I could cry! What a freaking masterpiece. Best 62 hours of my life!!!
